Graveside service for Betty Rusk, 86, formerly of Victor and Belle Plaine, will be held at 11 a.m. April 15 at the Belle Plaine Cemetery. She died March 17, 2017.

Memorials may be sent to Lisa Hinrichs, 1023 263rd St, Guernsey, Iowa 52221.

Betty Ann Bartachek Rusk was born Sept. 11, 1930. She grew up on a farm near Chelsea and lived in Belle Plaine for 20 years, Victor for 45 years and Colorado for six years.

She married Wilbur Rusk on June 3, 1950, at the Belle Plaine Methodist Church. The couple was blessed with two daughters, Connie and Lisa, and a son, Michael. She dearly loved her grandchildren and enjoyed attending their activities. She served many years as a member of the Victor Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to sing, bake, and sew.

Long known for her sense of humor, sassiness and Czech words, she will be missed by all those that loved her.

Rusk is survived by her daughters, Connie (James) Rusk Brown, Lakewood, Colo., and Lisa (Brian) Rusk Hinrichs, Guernsey; her son, Michael (Candace) Rusk, Denver, Colo.; seven grandchildren, Andrew Rusk Brown, Laura Diane Schweer, Gabriel Zane Rusk, Hannah Elaine Rusk, Chad Brian Hinrichs, Jessica Ann Hinrichs, and Faith Elizabeth Hinrichs; and great-grandchild, Leigha Anne Hinrichs.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur; her parents; one brother, Russell, and her infant sons, Kerry and Kevin. She was laid to rest next to her husban and their two infant sons.
