Celebration of life service for Janice E. Jacoby, 71, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4, at the First Presbyterian Church, Marengo. She died Friday, Jan. 27, 2017, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
The Rev. Anni Mingin will officiate at the service.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, at Powell Funeral Home, Williamsburg.
A general memorial has been established.

Janice Elaine Jacoby was born Oct. 23, 1945, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Bob and Lorraine (Wyjack) Bowen. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1963 and Paris Beauty Academy in 1964. Upon graduation, she worked as a cosmetologist for a number of years.
She married Bob Jacoby on June 18, 1966, in Cedar Rapids. They moved to Marengo and to this union they were blessed with eight children. They divorced in 2013. She owned and operated “Jan’s Heavenly Creations,” specializing in all occasion cakes, candy, cookies, crafts and floral arrangements for 34 years. She was known as “The Cake Lady” near and far.
She had an exceptional love and talent for music. She also sang with the Sweet Adelines and a community chorus known as “The Believers.”
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Marengo, Presbyterian Quilters, and the Eastern Star. She enjoyed keeping busy by being a seamstress, loved home and church decorating, floral arrangements, enjoyed cooking, baking, embroidery, knitting, crocheting, bowling, tri-chem painting, reading and crossword puzzles. She collected porcelain dolls, Boyd Bears and Precious Moments.
Jacoby is survived by five daughters: Wendy (Mark) Miller, Marengo; Heather (Lonnie) McClananhan, Conroy; Heidi Jacoby, Grapevine, Texas; Hillari Jacoby, Williamsburg, and Suzanne (Steve) Hiatt, Cedar Rapids; four sons: Shane (Michael Niece) Jacoby, Cedar Rapids; Colby (Nancy) Jacoby, Williamsburg; Quenton Jacoby, Marengo, and Ian Jacoby, Cedar Rapids; 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a brother: Michael (Liz) Bowen, Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Dixie Lee and Kathy Bowen-Miller; a granddaughter, Nicole Paige Jacoby, and a brother, Gary Bowen.
