Margaret “Peggy” Duffy Harrington, 90, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Evergreen Estate III. Services: Saturday, January 14, 10:00 a.m., at St. Patrick Catholic Church by Rev. Ivan Nienhaus. Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. on Friday at Teahen Funeral Home, where friends may visit with the family following until 7 p.m. and again on Saturday after 9:30 a.m. at the church.

Peggy is survived by four of her six children, Michael (Susan) of Cedar Rapids, Theresa (Steve) Azlin, Cathleen Harrington, and a daughter in law Francine, all of Phoenix, AZ, and Colleen (Shawn) McKee of Cheyenne, WY; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; two sisters Marilyn (Alvin) Moeller of Marion and Colleen Schropp of Parnell; and two sister’s-in-law Charlene Duffy and Carolyn Duffy both of Cedar Rapids.

Peggy is preceded in death by her husband James, daughter Maureen, son Dennis, sister Kaye Powrie, two brother’s John, and James, half-sister Nadine Raisley, and half-brother Ted Dwyer.

Peggy Jane was born on December 11, 1926 in Parnell, IA the daughter of Lawrence and Margaret (Raher) Duffy. She graduated from Parnell High School. On August 29, 1953, she married James F Harrington in Los Angeles, CA. Margaret worked for Collins Radio as an inspector, but spent the majority of her life as a homemaker.

Peggy, the Matriarch of our Duffy Family, liked singing and dancing, and always having the radio on. She was very proud of her Irish heritage, long time member of SaPaDaPaSo and was the Family Historian.
