Lainey Jae Riedel, age 4 months, passed away Monday, December 19, 2016. Funeral service: 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 23, 2016, at Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn, with Father Corey Close officiating. Burial will be in the Hartwick Cemetery. Visitation: 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 23, 2016, until service time.

Lainey Jae Riedel is survived by her parents, Scott and Emily Riedel, Hartwick; paternal grandparents, Robert and Jenny Riedel, Ladora and Rick and Kris Loschen, Brooklyn; maternal grandparents Curt and Angie Kriegel, Hartwick; paternal great-grandparents Curt and Colleen Riedel, Victor, Donnie and Connie McGinnis, Lincoln, NE, and Mary Carlson, Brooklyn; maternal great-grandparents Linda Kriegel, Grinnell and Don and Norma VanErsvelde, Deep River; paternal great-great-grandparent Ercel Riedel, Ottumwa; aunts, Kacie and Matt McCahen , Sarissa Riedel and Makenze Riedel; uncles Travis and Jen Kriegel, Christian and Camdon Loschen and Bryan Riedel; cousins Lilly Riedel and Landin McCahen. Also surviving are many great-aunts and uncles.

She was preceded in death by her brother Luke and sister Ivy Riedel, paternal great-grandparents Gene and Theresa Klein and maternal great-grandfather Glen Joe Kriegel.

Lainey Jae Riedel, a happy 7 lb., 13 oz. and 21 inch, beautiful baby girl, was born August 17, 2016, to Scott and Emily Riedel. She was very vocal and loved drops of Mountain Dew and sucking on candy bars that her Grandpa Curt gave her. Lainey especially loved “Mommy and Me time”, her mom always had that special touch to calm her when she was upset. She also loved watching the Iowa Hawkeyes with Daddy and watching tractor videos.
