Services for Howard Frimml, 95, Marengo, are Tuesday, Nov. 29, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Marengo, with the Rev. David Wilkening officiating.

Burial is at Calvary Cemetery, Marengo.

Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, with a Scripture service at 7 p.m.

Mr. Frimml passed away peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 22, at Marengo Memorial Hospital, Marengo.

Howard Bernard Frimml was born Feb. 3, 1921, in rural Marengo, the son of George and Eva (Beckler) Frimml. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Marengo and the Ladora Saddle Club.

Howard married Phyllis Hunzelman Jan. 15, 1942. Together they farmed in the South Amana area for 47 years. He raised colts in his younger days. He loved riding his mules, coon hunting with his dogs and deer hunting. Most of all, Howard loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and spending time with them.

Howard is survived by two sons, Dennis (Debra Strasser), South Amana, and Steven, Nampa, Idaho; a daughter Cynthia Schmidt, Ankeny; five grandchildren, Kimberly (Corey) Roberts, Williamsburg, Amber (Jason) Augustine, Ankeny, Richard Frimml, Caldwell, Idaho, Erica (Brian) VanThournout, Hartwick and Branden (Rachelle) Strasser, Williamsburg; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Phyllis in 2004, three brothers, a sister and a grandson.
