Anthony Robert Pusateri, 93, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2016, at Colonial Manor in Amana. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 25, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church by Father Christopher Podhajsky. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Monday, October 24, at Cedar Memorial West from 4 pm until 7 pm with a Rosary at 6:30 pm. Visitation will also be at 9:00 a.m. at the church the morning of the funeral.

Anthony was born September 7, 1923, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Pascal and Rosa (Giunta) Pusateri. He attended Immaculate Conception Catholic School and Coe College.

He married Leona Florence Stolba in Chicago on November 21, 1946. She preceded him in death in 2011.

Anthony was a sale rep for several different companies. He was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Church. He served as a medic in the Army Air Force during World War II with the rank of Staff Sergeant.

He was a devoted husband and father and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his daughters: Mary Ellen Pusateri of St. Louis, Missouri; Rosanne (Paul) Wisor of Lowden, Iowa; Jean (Ron) Bean of Van Horne, Iowa; Joan (Jim) DeTar of Knoxville, Tennessee; and a son, William (Colette) Pusateri of Coralville; and grandchildren: Angela Brokaw of Cedar Rapids; Joe (Rachal) Brokaw of Newhall; Steve (Heather) Brokaw of Kalona; Karen Brokaw (Ryan Costigan) of Cedar Rapids; Jennifer (Matt) Lindsey of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; and Christopher DeTar of China; and six great grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers-in-law, Robert (Marcella) Stolba of Cedar Rapids and Louis (Geraldine) Stolba of Robins, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Anthony was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Gus, and several cousins.

Anthony’s children would like to thank the staff of Colonial Manor of Amana, Dr. Richard Pope and his staff, and Essence of Life Hospice for the wonderful care and love they gave to their father.
