Anita Maxine Felling, 77, of Marengo died October 19, 2016, following a long illness. A memorial service will be held at Trinity United Church of Christ, rural Marengo, on Monday, October 24 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Tim Miller officiating. Visitation will be 10-11:00 A.M., Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite animal shelter in her name. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is assisting the family with arrangements.

Anita was born March 13, 1939, in Union, Illinois, the daughter of P. Lawrence Keener and Juanita Maxine Wheeler Keener. She graduated from Monticello High School, Monticello, Iowa with the Class of 1957. She received her nursing degree from Coe College and St. Luke’s, in Cedar Rapids. On August 21, 1960, Anita married Dwight Felling and together they had four children. She worked at the Marengo Memorial Hospital for the majority of her nursing career and was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, rural Marengo.

Anita was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Patricia Stoneking and Mary Keener, and grandchildren Christina Felling and Colby Taylor. She is survived by her husband, Dwight, of 56 years and her children, Denise (Scott) Fowler of Marengo; Ruth (James) Taylor of Boise, ID; Esther (Martin) Jenke of Hamburg, Germany; and Roger (Lynettia) Felling of Marengo; a sister, Janice (Carl) Rieniets of Monticello; and a brother, Ronald Keener of Austin, Texas. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
