Michael Alan Maxwell, age 49, of Ladora, formerly of Belle Plaine, died Friday, August 12, 2016.

There will be a graveside memorial service Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., at the Marengo Cemetery.

Family will receive friends Monday, August 15, 2016, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo.

A memorial fund has been established.

Michael is survived by his two sons Tyler (Chelsea Beckley) of South Amana and Cody (Lynette) Maxwell of Wellman; three daughters Kaylee Maxwell of Cedar Rapids, Ava Maxwell of Blairstown and Kelsi Bringmann of Blairstown; three brothers Jesse (Debra) Pigman of Lincoln, NE, Donald (Christina) Maxwell of Omaha, NE and Kelly Maxwell of Marengo; two sisters Faith Schwabe of Marengo and Shelly Maxwell of Omaha, NE; a granddaughter Liberty Maxwell; and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Michael was born May 6, 1967, in Omaha, NE, the son of Donald and Lois Gleason Maxwell.

He received his education in Belle Plaine and Iowa Valley Schools and continued on to Garden City Community College, Kansas, where he studied industrial refrigeration. He worked for Garling, Kinze, Benco, Tama Pack and was currently employed at Riverbend Industries in Victor.

Michael enjoyed building things, camping, strategy board games, playing cards, playing pool and was an avid Nebraska Husker fan. He loved spending time with his children, nieces and nephews.
