Duane Gene Dusil, 82, of Walford, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Cowboy Church of Walford.

Duane was born on December 18, 1933, in Fairfax, Iowa, the son of William Gilbert and Marie (Vostrol) Dusil. He served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Duane was united in marriage to Bonnie Gantz on October 26, 1963 in Cedar Rapids. Before retirement, he worked at Cedar Rapids Dodge and GLS - Grass and Lawn Service. Duane liked racing, gardening, and fishing. His greatest joy was his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Bonnie of Williamsburg; three sons, Gene (Billie Jo) Dusil of Walford, Ron (Deanna) Dusil of Walford, and Chris Worley of Ely; step-daughter, Shirley Gantz of Cedar Rapids; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, four sisters, Lorraine Sakulin of Cedar Rapids, Betty (Bobby) Slaton of Cedar Rapids, Evelyn Cole of Bonaparte, and Anita Fuller of Toddville; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers, Wally, Duke, and Marvin Dusil; one sister, Nadine Novak; and three brothers-in-law, Dick Sakulin, Virgil Cole, and Ray Fuller. The family wishes to express a special thanks to Billie Jo Dusil. Memorials may be directed to the family. Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home, Tama-Toledo is assisting the family with the arrangements.
