Russell L. Willard, 66, of 1626 Homewood Lane N.E., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Tuesday, October 7, 2008, in Iowa County as the result of a car accident. Services: 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 14, 2008, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Dan Krueger of Zion Lutheran Church. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday, October 13, 2008, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Marilyn; son, Todd (Jennifer) Willard of Center Point; daughter, Teresa Brown; and sister-in-law, Margaret Willard of Cedar Rapids.

Russell was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Howard Willard; and sister, Vera Willard.

Russell was born October 6, 1942, the son of George and Goldie (Pratt) Willard. On March 25, 1967, in Marion, Iowa, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Everett. After over 30 years, he retired from Rockwell as machinist.

Russell’s joys included fishing, camping, the outdoors and gambling.

Russell will be greatly missed.
