Marge was born in rural Tipton, on April 3, 1928. She was the youngest of three daughters born to John and Mayme (Lynch) Buresh. Her favorite childhood pet was Foxie the fox, who mysteriously disappeared one day (mom thought because too many chickens were missing)! She attended Springfield #7, a one room schoolhouse, for her early education, and then graduated from Tipton High School in 1945. After attending Marycrest College in Davenport for a year, she began working for Prudential Life Insurance.

After a brief courtship, she married Paul Pelzer on October 14, 1950 at Holy Family Church in Davenport, Iowa. They purchased a run-down farm south-east of Tipton, and worked tirelessly to create Belle (beautiful) Acres farm and home.

Marge was a dedicated mother and housewife. Her family was never without at least three home cooked meals a day, (desserts and after school snacks were abundant). Much of the food was grown in her large garden. She always provided a baked treat for anyone who entered her home.

Marge was passionate about her Catholic faith and supported the St. Mary's Guild. She helped form a group home for disabled people and supported Camp Courageous. She enjoyed creating and sharing holiday crafts and quilting which she titled "Blemishes by Marge", and liked watching the Iowa Hawkeye men's basketball on television. She also enjoyed traveling with Paul. She had a competitive edge; playing cards, croquet, soccer, etc. with the grandchildren. Easter egg hunts and Christmas baking were favorite family traditions.

Marge is survived by her nine children: Son, Jim (Mary) Pelzer, Tipton, Iowa; son, Tom (Brenda) Pelzer, Sheridan, Wyoming; daughter, Nanette (Wayne) Behrens, Atalissa, Iowa; son, Joe (Bonnie) Pelzer, Irrigon, Oregon; son, Ed (Molly) Pelzer, Tipton, Iowa; daughter, Mary (Maury) Moser, Amana, Iowa; son, John (Cindy) Pelzer, Bennett, Iowa; daughter, Peggy (Mike) Murphy, Marion, Iowa and son, David Pelzer, Iowa City, Iowa; sister, Helen (Cyril) Costello, Davenport, Iowa; 19 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mayme; husband, Paul; sister, Kay Miller; grandson; Jacob Murphy.
