Funeral service for Marilyn A. Coon, 42, Williamsburg, was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 7, at First Presbyterian Church, Williamsburg. She died Thursday, June 30, 2016, along with her daughter, Hailey Kruse, in a motor vehicle accident.

The Rev. Dan Jessop officiated at the service.

Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Williamsburg.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Marilyn Ann Coon was born Dec. 3, 1973, in Iowa City, the daughter of Richard and Mary Weldon Kruse. She graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1992. She enjoyed fishing and doing puzzles and was a fan of unicorns and wolves. She especially enjoyed attending her children’s activities.

Coon is survived by one son, Bailey Kruse, Williamsburg; one daughter, Lana Coon, Williamsburg; her husband, James Coon, Marengo; a step-granddaughter, Mekenna Coon; her parents, Richard and Mary Weldon Kruse, Williamsburg; three brothers, Richard Jr. (Sheila), James (Nicole) and Scott (Kathy) Kruse, all Williamsburg, and one sister, Jennifer Kempf (Martin Martinson), Williamsburg.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Hailey Kruse.
