Amana
Helen Mae Moser, age 79, of Amana, died Monday, May 30, 2016, at Mercy Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Funeral Services: 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 2, 2016 at the Middle Amana Church, Middle Amana. With Elder Mike Shoup officiating. Burial will be at the Amana Cemetery. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at the Middle Amana Church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

Helen is survived by two sons Maury (Mary) Moser and Galen (Linda) Moser, both of Amana; three grandchildren Tiffany (Drew) Kinzenbaw of Marengo, Megan (Macie Roberts) Moser of Amana and Sarah Moser of Amana; a great-grandson Dayton Kinzenbaw of Marengo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roy in 2012 and a sister Lillian Ahrens.

Helen Mae Sontag was born March 4, 1937 in Amana, the daughter of William and Frieda Rohrbacher Sontag. She graduated from Amana High School in 1955 and attended the Cedar Rapids School of Business.

She married Roy Moser on October 17, 1959 at the Amana Church.

Helen worked as a receptionist at the Amana Doctor’s Office, taught in-home preschool, was a refinisher at Krauss Furniture, sales clerk at Cellar Door/Red Geranium and the Christmas Room in Amana and also worked the Amana Society switchboard. Helen was a volunteer for Daffodil Days for the American Cancer Society, Amana Heritage Society, Amana Society Church and a Sunday School teacher at the Amana Church. She enjoyed baking and cooking, gardening, jigsaw puzzles, horses, playing the accordion, playing bridge, singing and music, traveling. She especially loved playing games and doing crafts with her grandchildren, caring for her family and friends and visiting with all people.
