Services for Dorothy A. (Sandersfeld) Fenton, 91, were held April 16 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Hemet, Calif., followed by a reception to celebrate her life at the home of her daughter. She died Sunday, April 10, 2016, surrounded by her husband and family.

Dorothy Anna Fenton was born Sept. 24, 1924, the daughter of August and Elizabeth [Von Ahsen] Sandersfeld. She will be remembered for her love of gardening, canning, baking, bowling and singing and for her faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

She believed in the importance of family and in her faith in the Lord. She spent her life passing on her family history and her love in God to her family. She will be greatly missed.

Sandersfeld is survived by her husband, Vernon Fenton Jr.; two sisters, Shirley Nagle, Ohio; Roma Phelps, La Mesa, Calif.; three children, Vernon (Dolores) Fenton III, Teresa (Dennis) Barnett, Jerry (Jeannine); five grandchildren and their spouses and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Medora Heitshusen, and brothers, Waldemar and Gilbert Sandersfeld.
