Williamsburg- Laurena Anna Gorsh was born September 16, 1923 in Hilton Township, Iowa County, the daughter of Albert and Anna (Lorenz) Teggatz. She grew up in the Conroy and Williamsburg communities. Laurena was united in marriage to Russell Floyd Gorsh on February 10, 1946 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg. Together they farmed 5 ½ miles west of Williamsburg until moving to Williamsburg in 1991. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Laurena passed away Friday, April 15, 2016 at the English Valley Care Center in North English at the age of 92 years.

She is survived by her two sons: Dennis and Douglas both of Williamsburg; a daughter-in-law: Marilyn (Larry) Glasco of Oskaloosa; nine grandchildren: Jim Gorsh, John (Angela) Gorsh, Jarret (Tara) Gorsh, Jason (Davina) Gorsh, Jeremy Gorsh, Jill Gorsh, Val (Amber) Gorsh, Jody (Michelle) Gorsh and Jay (Hannah) Gorsh; 15 great grandchildren; a sister: Lillie Carter of Williamsburg and sister-in-law: Ruth Ann Gorsh of North English.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1991, a son: Dale in 2005; 3 sisters: Katie Huedepohl, Pauline Collingwood and Eleonora Hunzelman; 3 brothers: Friemund, Orville and Ferdinand Teggatz.

Celebration of Life Service will be 10:30 am Monday, April 18, 2016 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. Memorials are for St. Paul Lutheran Church.
