Williamsburg- Freddy Antonio Miranda the son of Marcos Miranda and Rosario Jordan was born August 11, 1976 in Guayaquil, Ecuador; the oldest of four children.

He moved to the United States in 1998 to study at Clarke College, Dubuque, IA where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in 2002. He went on to earn his Master of Arts in Education from the University of Northern Iowa in 2005.

At the time of his death, Freddy was the Director of International Affairs, Indian Hills Community College, Ottumwa, IA.

Freddy was united in marriage to Janelle Elise Puhrmann on September 1, 2007 in Ames, Iowa. To this union they were blessed with three children: Logan (5), Landon (2) and Hayden (6 weeks).

Freddy met every day with his consummate smile and an excitement for life that was contagious. He loved his family with extraordinary zeal and frequently shared it with those around him. His recruits often refer to him as a mentor, advisor and even father-figure. He was a passionate soccer and football fan – always easy to locate in the stands (or the tailgate.)

Freddy died in an auto accident near Tegucigalpa, Honduras on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at the age 39 years. He is survived by his parents, brothers Boris and David and sister Betsabe (Matt) King. Also, Dale Puhrmann, father-in-law; Denise Puhrmann, mother-in-law; brother’s-in-law Aaron (Brittany) Puhrmann and Ryan Puhrmann and his fiancée Maggie Forsythe.

Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 10:30 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Williamsburg, Iowa. There will be a Celebration of Life Gathering also on Saturday from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at the Indian Hills College in Ottumwa.
