Williamsburg- Donald Lee Fetzer was born August 5, 1951 in Williamsburg, Iowa, the son of Charles “Barney” and Helen (Meyer) Fetzer.

He was baptized on August 26, 1951 and confirmed on April 11, 1965 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. He attended Lutheran Interparish School and graduated in 1969 from Williamsburg High School. He attended Ellsworth Community College and graduated in 1973 from the University of Northern Iowa with a minor in Economics and a major in Business Administration.

Don was united in marriage to Rosemary Kay Hinrichs on July 7, 1973 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Conroy.

Don along with his brother Bill co-managed the Fetzer BP at the Little Amana exit for forty-one years.

He was an avid fan of Yankee Baseball, together the family enjoyed traveling to watch them play. He also enjoyed reading, listening to music, watching sports and he especially enjoyed attending his children's activities when they were growing up and later his grandchildren. Don was a life member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg.

He passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016 at his home with his family by his side at the age of 64 years.

He is survived by his wife Rosemary; a daughter: Olivia (Adam) Hocker of Williamsburg; a son: Nicholas (Jennifer) Fetzer of Milwaukee, WI; five grandchildren: Grant, Ava and Ian Hocker and Evelyn and Bryant Fetzer; his mother: Helen Fetzer of North English; a brother: William “Bill” (Pamela) Fetzer of Williamsburg and a sister: Nancy (Tim) Pettibone of Saratoga Springs, UT.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother-in-law: Sandy Johnson.

Celebration of Life Service will be 10:30 am Monday, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg. Burial will be at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery near Williamsburg. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. Memorials are for Lutheran Interparish School, Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center or Hospice of Mercy Cedar Rapids.
