Larry E. Mayer, 74, Marengo, died Feb. 21, 2016, after a short illness. A memorial service will be held in the future.

He was born Oct. 20, 1941, in Akron, Ohio. He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber and lived in Marengo for the last 20-plus years.

He was a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church, Marengo, and served on the Marengo Library Board as well as other various boards in the community.

Mayer is survived by his daughter, Jackie Guadagnolo; son-in-law, Mike; grandchildren, Zane and Grace; sister, Pat; brother, John; close friends, Tony and Joanna and family, Glenn Gobin, Pastor Anni Mingin and his wonderful church family.
