Alberta Mae Hartgrave

67, of 3635 Crestwood Dr. NW, died Thursday, July 31, 2003, in
University Hospitals, Iowa City, following a short illness. Services -
10 a.m. Tuesday, Salem United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Linda
Bibb. Burial - Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 5
to 8 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home and after 9:30
a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Survivors include three sons, Dan Hartgrave and wife Tina, Doug
Hartgrave, and Dennis Hartgrave and wife Tammy, all of Cedar Rapids;
her mother, Edyth Simmons of Marion; a sister, Ora Lee Hollingsworth
of Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Kieth Simmons and wife Jerreldene of
Van Horne and Jerry Simmons and wife Laura of Grove City, Ohio; four
grandchildren; two bonus grandchildren; and a bonus great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her father; two brothers, Dickie McAtee
and Craig Simmons; and a sister, Regina Anderson.

Alberta was born July 29, 1936, in Iowa City, to Albert Dean and Edyth
Mae McAtee Simmons. Alberta was an accountant at Lefebure for 27
years. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, where she
was the Sunday School Treasurer. She also was a hostess for Internet
games.

A memorial fund has been established.
