Francis E. Schutterle, age 78 of Marengo, Iowa, died Thursday, December 24, 2015 at his home. Graveside Memorial Services: 10:30 A.M. Monday, December 28, 2015, Marengo Cemetery, with Rev. Andrew Gray officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 P.M. Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo.

A memorial fund has been established.

He is survived by his wife Barbara; a daughter Lisa Marie Lillie (Jason) of Marengo; three step-daughters, Kim Neuhaus, Kelly Dye, and Jonette Finley, all of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, Nicole Mangold, Tiffany Herman, David Lillie and Caleb Lillie; seven step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, Brook, Carson and Madeline, and many step-great grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother Donald Schutterle (Terri) of Marengo and a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Schutterle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Robert Schutterle.

Francis Eugene Schutterle was born August 10, 1937 in Marengo, Iowa, the son of Edward and Bernice Hacker Schutterle. He attended the Marengo schools. Francis started working for Marengo Motor Company at the age of 16. He remained with them until his retirement at the age of 65.

Francis and Barbara Porter-Stockwell were married on August 23, 1968 in Kahoka, MO. The couple resided in Marengo, and were members of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Marengo. He was an avid NASCAR fan and his favorite snack was Cheetos.
