Benton Meyer, 28 days

Celebration of life service for Benton Arthur Meyer was held at 4:30 p.m. Monday, May 18, at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Williamsburg. He was born 17 weeks early, on Thursday, April 16, 2015, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, Iowa City, to Matthew and Michelle (Landuyt) Meyer. He passed away in his parents’ arms, surrounded by his grandparents, on Thursday, May 14, 2015, in Iowa City, at the age of 28 days.

Private family burial followed at Pilot Grove Cemetery near Williamsburg.

A general memorial fund has been established.

Benton is survived by his parents; one brother, Briggs Meyer; his grandparents, Art and Barb Landuyt, Williamsburg, and George and Ellen Meyer, Strawberry Point; great-grandmothers, Phyllis Caskey, Williamsburg, and Ivanelle Bushaw, Strawberry Point; aunts and uncles, Dawn and Craig Goeldner, Indianola; Mandy Landuyt, Williamsburg; Amanda Meyer, New Haven, Conn.; Becky and Chris Madsen, Cedar Rapids, and Adam Meyer, North Liberty, and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Norman “Hoppy” Caskey, Oscar and Margareta Landuyt, Delbert and Mildred Meyer, Don Bushaw and an uncle, Dan Meyer.

Williamsburg-Benton Arthur Meyer was born 17 weeks early on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City, to Matthew and Michelle (Landuyt) Meyer. Benton passed away in his parents arms surrounded by his grandparents on Thursday, May, 14, 2015 in Iowa City. He was 28 days old.

Celebration of Life Service will be 4:30 pm Monday, May 18, 2015 at the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Williamsburg. Visitation will be 2:30 to 4:30 on Monday at the church.
