WILLIE F. 'BILL' BRINGMANN

Willie F. "Bill" Bringmann, 71, of Ladora, Iowa, died Saturday, December 27, 1986 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

He was the son of Albert and Emma Moller Bringmann and was born June 15, 1915. He attended school at St. John's Lutheran School.

On January 9, 1937 he was married to Velma Hartgrave at Moline, Ill. He lived all of his life in the Guernsey, Victor and Ladora area. He farmed until 1965. He retired in 1980 after 18 years of service at Martin Marietta Central Division.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife Velma; two sons, LeRoy Bringmann, Sr., of Ladora and Richard and Edith Bringmann of Belle Plaine; his mother, Emma of Williamsburg; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Bernhard Bringmann of Williamsburg and two sisters, Frieda Strobel of Centertown, Mo., and Margaret Landuyt of Belle Plaine.

He was preceded in death by his father, Albert.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the McAninch-Fremming Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth D. Bartelt of St. John's Lutheran Church officiating. Organist was Mrs. Jane Alexander. The pall bearers were Chuck Baetsle of Hartwick, Dale Bringmann, and Larry Bringmann of Williamsburg, Dwayne Dunning and Jerold Hartgrave of Keystone, and Kenny Landuyt of Williamsburg and Kenny Roshek of Victor.

Burial was in the Victor Memorial Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established for cancer research.
