Neoma Lacy, 90

Graveside services for Neoma P. Lacy, 90, Vinton, formerly of Williamsburg, were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 6, at the North English Cemetery. She died Friday, May 2, 2014, at the Vinton Lutheran Home, Vinton.

Memorials may be made to the Vinton Lutheran Home.

Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, was in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.klosterfuneralhome.com.

Neoma Pearl Lacy was born Dec. 2, 1923, in Williamsburg, the daughter of Lonzo Augustus Rogers and Ada Jane Shelton Rogers. She attended the Gehry School in English Township.

She married Lloyd Melvin Lacy Dec. 13, 1941, at the Ohio Methodist parsonage in rural Ladora. In addition to being a homemaker, wife and mother, she worked for Nash Finch in Cedar Rapids for 11 years and as an office clerk at Kinze Manufacturing, rural Williamsburg, for 20 years, retiring in 2002.

She enjoyed gardening, sewing, puzzles and flea markets. She especially loved her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Lacy is survived by her daughters, Jeannene Ann Lacy, Hiawatha, and Patricia Ann Lacy, Vinton; six grandchildren, Christene (Jerry) Dietz, Cedar Rapids; Amy Jo (Kris) Stephenson, Caitlin Loney, Destiny Loney, Breanna Loney and Austin Douglas, all Vinton; her sister, Marie (Mel) Faas, Lincoln, Neb.; brother-in-law, Larry (Nancy) Lacy, and a sister-in-law, Mildred Lacy, all Cedar Rapids.

She was preceded in death by her husband, in 2009; her parents and three sisters, Nadine Gardner, Elma Smith and Ethel Jennings.
