JEANNETTE BOWMAN

Jeannette Bowman, 79, of Victor, died Monday, August 2, 1989 at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City. She was the daughter of John G. and Ada Dillon Nichols, born July 7, 1910 at Belle Plaine.

She attended school at Belle Plaine and was a 1928 graduate of Belle Plaine High School. She married John J. Roushar, August 26, 1930, in Victor, he died in 1944. On March 21, 1951, she married Thomas Bowman, Victor. She lived all her life in the Belle Plaine and Victor area. She lived in Victor for the past 60 years where she owned and operated the Victor Drug Store from 1944 until 1960. She had served as a volunteer at the Veterans Hospital in Iowa City for 17 years.

She was a member of St. Bridget's Catholic Church, Victor, and the Harold E. Smith American Legion Post #54 Auxiliary of Victor.

Survivors include her husband, Tom; one son, Jack Roushar of Cedar Rapids; one sister, Carol Hull of Augusta, Kan.; six grandchildren and one great-grandson.
