OBITUARY

HANAFORD

Lillie R. Long was born September 24th, 1872 at Williamsburg, Iowa.

At the age of 15 she united with the Methodist Episcopal Church of Williamsburg, later transferring her membership to the M.E. church of Batavia and was a very faithful member.

On January 6th, 1898, she was united in marriage to Lyman W. Hanford. For the past ten years they resided in Batavia.

She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Fern; two brothers, W.R. Long of Williamsburg and Dr. E.C. Long of Prescott, Arizona and two sisters: Mrs. W.W. Lewis of Batavia and Mrs. C.M. Whitehall of Marengo, Iowa.

She passed away June 11th, 1925 at 11:30 P.M. being 52 years, 8 months and 17 days old.

The funeral service was held in the Batavia M.E. church, Saturday at 2 P.M. conducted by the pastor, D. Phillips. Then the body was taken by train from Ottumwa to Williamsburg where the burial took place on Monday afternoon, June 15th among former relatives and friends.
