Roderick 'Rod' Fry, 90, passed away Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at the Perry Lutheran Home in Perry. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 3, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, with a Masonic service at 10:30 a.m..

Rod was born June 2, 1923, to John and Doris (Miller) Fry in North English, Iowa. Rod served in the United States Army as a staff sergeant during World War II. Rod married Lillian Kutasi on Nov. 22, 1947. She passed away in 1999.

Rod is survived by his son, Martin (Barbara) Fry of Clive; one granddaughter, Crystal (Ricky) Frausto of Omaha; two great-grandchildren, Teagan and Damian; sister, Christine Fry of Daytona Beach; and a brother, James (Glenna) Fry of Iowa City.

Rod was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lillian Fry; and brothers, Murray and Keith Fry.

Rod was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, 50-year life member of Crescent Lodge AF & AM No. 25, El Kahir Temple, Jolly Joker Clown Unit and the Elks Club.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Shriners Crippled Children's Hospitals c/o El Kahir Temple.
