Memorial service for Viola M. Roth, 104, Williamsburg, was held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 3, at Harvest Baptist Church, Williamsburg. She died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at Highland Ridge Care Center, Williamsburg.

The Rev. John Sauser and the Rev. Danny Capon officiated at the service.

Inurnment will be at a later date in East York/Harrington Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.

Memorials may be made to Harvest Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.

Viola Mae Roth was born Sept. 17, 1909, in Berthold, N.D., the daughter of Jesse Everett and Ellen Clarissa Gloyd Dennis. She received her early education in Sanborn and graduated from Mason City High School in 1927.

She married Kenneth Chester Roth May 15, 1928, in Spencer. The couple raised their family in Mason City and retired to Apache Junction, Ariz. She returned to Iowa and seettled in Williamsburg.

She was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She was treasurer of the Iowa division of the American Cancer Society for many years.

She enjoyed reading, traveling, birding and Bible study. She was a member of Harvest Baptist Church, Williamsburg. She was a wise woman who dearly loved her family and her Lord.

Roth is survived by her children, Dennis L. (Susan) Roth, Manhattan Beach, Calif.; Elizabeth E. (Stan) Benner, St. Peter, Minn., and Marilyn K. (Richard) Austin, Williamsburg; seven grandchildren, Timothy (Becky) Benner, Carrie (Sam) Martin, Buck (Candy) Austin, Brenna (Danny) Capon, Michael (Cham) Roth, Julie Roth and James Roth; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and two brothers, Ralph and Clyde Dennis.
