Marvin Dean Woods, was born July 15, 1933, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Darrell & Mabel (Smith) Woods. He graduated from Williamsburg High School.

On July 2, 1960, he married Helen Septer in Millersburg. He was a touch-up painter at Amana Refrigeration for many years before retiring.

Marvin was a member of the Millersburg United Methodist Church, Millersburg. He enjoyed spending time with his family and watching football on TV.

Marvin died on Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at the University of Iowa Hospital, in Iowa City, at the age of 80 years.

He is survived by two children: Mary Woods of Millersburg and Mark (Gayle) Woods of Homestead; five grandchildren: Zach, Mason, Ashley, Emilie & Ken; and two great grandchildren: Conan & Grady; and a sister Carolyn Joyce (Jerry) Ridenour of Marion.

He was preceded by his parents; a brother Ivan Woods and two sisters Rita & Dorla.

Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held 10:30 AM on Monday, November 11, 2013, at the Millersburg United Methodist Church, Millersburg. Rev. Michelle Williamson will officiate. Burial will be in the Zion Cemetery, rural Williamsburg. Visitation will be on Sunday, from 4:00 - 6:00 PM at the Millersburg United Methodist Church. A general memorial fund has been established.
