Harold “Bus” Seitsinger was born May 26, 1916 near Kinross, Iowa, the son of Jesse and Eliza “Doll” (Wagamon) Seitsinger. He graduated from Kinross High School in 1934. He served in the United States Army Air Corp from June 13, 1942 to October 10, 1945.

On January 22, 1947 Harold was united in marriage to Vivian Kathryn Oliver at the Keota Presbyterian Church. They lived and farmed in the Wellman community for over 60 years.

He was a member of the Kinross Christian Church, Farm Bureau, Farmers Lodge No. 168 A.F. & A.M. Keota VFW Post #4716 and Charles Polton American Legion Post #427.

Harold died on Friday, October 18, 2013 at his daughter’s home in rural Wellman at the age of 97 years.

Harold is survived by his four children Gloria (Richard) Spellman of Columbia, MO; Mary (Jerry) Slezak of Iowa City; Jay (Connie) Seitsinger of Seward, NE; Vicki (Doug) Stein of Wellman; six grandchildren; Steven and Daniel Spellman, Melissa Wilson, Jeff, Andy, and Grant Stein, eight great grandchildren; Isaiah, Huston, Avery, Lillie, Jazmin, Abigail, and Aaron Spellman, McKenna Wilson, and two sisters Helen Romberg of Williamsburg; and Betty Maxwell of Iowa City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Vivian; four brothers Marlowe, Omer, Byrl, and Paul; and a half sister Ruby Kammerer.

Celebration of life services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, October 26, 2013 at the Kinross Christian Church in Kinross. Pastor Jim Stout and Pastor Jim Bringman will be officiating.

Burial will be held in the Brethren Cemetery, South English.

Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Friday, October 25 at the Powell Funeral Home in Wellman with a Masonic Service at 7:30 pm. A memorial fund has been established for the Kinross Christian Church and Washington County Hospice. Powell Funeral Home in Wellman is in charge of arrangements.
