Shirley Gallagher, 80
Shirley Gallagher, 80, of Big River, Calif., formerly of Marengo, died Aug. 29, 2013, at her home following back surgery.
A memorial service was held Saturday, Oct. 5, at the American Legion Post 466, Big River. Cards of condolence may be sent to the family at P.O. Box 2445, Big River, Calif., 92242.
Shirley Myers was born April 9, 1933, in Marengo, the daughter of Carlos and Marie [Lutz] Myers. She and her husband, Clayton, were married 36 years.
She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Big River Youth Committee for 20 years, Citizens On Patrol and later became a Commander, where she served for 13 years.
Survivors include her husband; daughters Cheryl (Steve) Williams, Scottsdale, Ariz., Denise (Bill) Carroll, Big River, and Jayme Poblano, Winchester, Calif.; stephchildren Susie (Robert) Hooten, Bill (Astrid) Gallagher, Candy (Steve) Merlo, Brian (Billie) Gallagher and JoAnn (Gary) Hill; nephews and nieces George Myers and Connie (Myers) Healy, Marengo, Larry and Donna Grimm, Scottsdale, Ricky Myers, Riverside, Calif., and Julie (Ken) Myers, Big River; plus a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Dorothy Dolozier; brothers George Myers and his wife, Margarite, James Myers and his wife, Nadine; and nephews James Myers Jr. and James Myers III.
