Lloyd W. Lemley was born Monday, April 20, 1914 near Wellman, Iowa the son of Charley and Minnie (Blum) Lemley. He attended local schools.
On October 21, 1934 he was united in marriage to Ida Stohlmann in Wellman.
Lloyd has lived all of his life in the Wellman community where he farmed. He was a member of the Lutheran Church of The Good Shepherd where he was the oldest living member. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and camping.
Lloyd died on Thursday, June 1, 2006 at the Pleasantview Home in Kalona following a brief illness at the age of 92 years.
Lloyd is survived by a son - Dennis Lemley and wife Lois of Washington; a daughter - Donna Putney and husband Morris of North Liberty; 4 grandsons - Ronnie Lemley, Richard Lemley, Tim Hill and Jeff Putney; 11 great grandchildren; a sister - Martha Berry of Tucson, Arizona; 2 sisters-in-law Sylvia Lemley of South English and Dorothy Lemley of Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ida on June 2, 2005; an infant son; two brothers - Leo and Wayne; and a sister - Dorothy Gingerich.
A memorial fund has been established for the Lutheran Church of The Good Shepherd.Powell Funeral Homes
