Funeral service for Tammi J. Northup, 47, Blairstown, was held Friday, July 12, at the Blairstown Legion Hall. She died Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Gene Spicer officiated at the service.

A memorial fund has been established.

Phillips Funeral Home, Blairstown, was in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be left at www.philipsfuneralhomes.com.

Tammi Jo Northup was born April 6, 1966, at Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Thomas Eugene and Dixie Rae (Newton) Kent. She graduated from Benton Community High School in 1984.

She married Scott Northup Feb. 25, 1989, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua. She enjoyed gardening, WWE wrestling and the Green Bay Packers. Her greatest joy came from attending her son’s sports events and time spent with family and friends.

Northup is survived by her husband, Scott, Blairstown; her children, Brittany Northup and Hunter Northup, Blairstown; her parents, Dixie and Darrell Dellamuth, Blairstown, and Thomas Kent, Belle Plaine; sisters, Trudey and Brian Nekola, Tama, and Dena and Christian Shonts, Charlotte, N.C.; one brother, Nick and Christy Dellamuth, Blairstown; eight nieces; two nephews; parents-in-law, Jim and Joyce Northup, Blairstown; one brother-in-law, James Northup, Las Vegas, and one sister-in-law, Cynthia and Martin Noble, Georgia.

She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, two uncles, two aunts and a niece.
