Funeral service for Amanda C. Fankhauser, 96, Lisbon, was held at 10 a.m. April 4 at Morgan Funeral and Cremation Choices, Mount Vernon. She entered into eternal life Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Colonial Manor of Amana, Middle Amana.

Burial was in Van Horn Cemetery, rural Lowden.

Her joy was her church, where she could worship and sing. She was an excellent gardener and cook. Her life was her family and friends.

Fankhauser is survived by one son, Roy and Dorothy Fankhauser, Marengo, and his children, Randy and Kevin Fankhauser, Las Vegas; great-grandchildren, Jasmine and Brian Lee Fankhauser, Las Vegas; granddaughter, Lisa Carter Schlabach and Bill, Marengo; great-granddaughter, Amanda Jane Schlabach, Marengo; two grandsons, Vincent Carter, Monticello, and Kenneth and Lori Carter, Tiffin; one sister, Nadine LaFranz, Lowden; her nieces and nephews, Sam LaFranz, Sara Johnson, Julie Evans and James LaFranz.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Burdette; her parents, Carl and Sophie Harmann Dircks; one daughter, Mary Kay Carter, and one brother-in-law, Walter LaFranz.
