O. Paul Hedge, 88, of Williamsburg, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at Mercy Iowa City. A memorial graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 4, at Cedar Township Memorial Cemetery, Fremont, Iowa, with Military Honors by the Iowa Color Guard. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 3, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo.

Memorials may be contributed to Iowa City Hospice or the Williamsburg Public Library.

Paul is survived by his sons, Robert and Steven, both of Williamsburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Horrace and Lula (Bingeman) Hedge; his wife, Betty, in 2006; and a brother, Dale Hedge.

O. Paul Hedge, age 88 of Williamsburg, Iowa, died Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, January 30, 2013, Fremont Funeral Chapel, Fremont, Iowa. Burial with Military Honors: Cedar Township Memorial Cemetery, Fremont. Visitation: 5 to 7 P.M. Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo and after 9:30 A.M. until service time Wednesday at the Fremont Funeral Chapel. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Betty in 2006, and a brother Dale Hedge.

Oliver Paul Hedge was born January 3, 1925 in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the son of Horrace P. and Lula Bell Bingeman Hedge. He graduated from Fremont High School and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1942-46, as an aviation radioman.

Paul married Betty Rutherford on July 20, 1947 in Ottumwa, Iowa. He was employed with Collins Radio for 15 years as an electrical engineer. In 1965, the couple moved to Williamsburg, where Paul owned and operated the Gambles Store. He later worked for Harbour-McEntire, Sam Belland and Roger Folkmann.
