Alice M. Williamson was born Dec. 8, 1926, in Keswick, the daughter of Edward and Julia Van Vooren Kochuyt. She was raised on the family farm near Victor and attended Hartford #1 school.

She married Everett Williamson Aug. 26, 1948, in Victor. The couple farmed and made their home in the Hartwick community for 60 years. Following their retirement, they moved to Belle Plaine.

The farm was a way of life Alice loved, providing her the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and gardening. She had worked as a switchboard operator, a clerk at Schrim’s Variety and Seaton’s Grocery, Victor. She also did wallpapering for others in the community.

She was active in women’s fellowship, was a Country Hospice volunteer, served on the Iowa County Cancer Board and was a member of the Iowa County Heartland Quilters. She enjoyed camping, crocheting, sewing, quilting and people. She often shared the results of her love for quilting and crocheting with others.

She was a member of the Hartwick Congregational Church and later attended First Congregational Church, Belle Plaine.

Williamson is survived by her brother-in-law, Donald and Elaine Williamson, Atkins; three sisters-in-law, Margaret Kochuyt, Brooklyn; Irene Criswell, Newton, and Linda Davis, Victor, and several nieces and nephews.
