A service of celebration and thanksgiving for Florine Muhlenbruck, 75, Westgate, was held Nov. 3 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Westgate. She died Oct. 29, 2010, at her home.

She was born Nov. 5, 1934, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Joseph and Grace Carlson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

After attending St. John’s Academy and graduating from St. John’s College, Winfield, Kan., she taught primary grades in several schools in the Chicago area and eastern Iowa.

She married Marvin Muhlenbruck July 24, 1955.

Muhlenbruck is survived by her husband; two children and their spouses, Alan and Connie, Mediapolis, and Deb and John Grolmus, Williamsburg; seven grandchildren, Amanda Gerst and husband Justin, Darik, Carmen and Ali Muhlenbruck, Joel, Black and Kati Grolmus, and one great-grandson, Jackson Grolmus.

She was preceded in death by one son, Joel.
