SERVICES FOR GORDON DAVIS THURS., NOV. 30

Gordon R. Davis, 56, of Cedar Rapids was fatally injured Monday afternoon when he fell to a concrete floor from a 25 foot high scaffold at a Penick and Ford Construction site.

Gordon Roy Davis was born Oct. 12, 1911 at Ripley, Ill. He had been a Cedar Rapids resident since 1956. He was married July 4, 1954 at Corning, Ark. to Dorothy Schlesselman. Employed as a carpenter for Blahnik Construction Co., he was a member of Carpenters Local 308 and a precinct committeeman for the Linn County Democratic Central Committee.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Mrs. Thomas Scott of Hamilton, Ill., Mrs. Darrell Olson of Ione, Wash., four sons, Richard of Wilmette, Ill., Larry, Sioux City, Ronald in the Navy in Alaska, and Roger of Clearfield, Utah; ten grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Ted Simons of Carthage, Ill., Mrs. Bruce Billings of Reynolds, Ill., Mrs. Edna Meyer of Quincy, Ill., and Mrs. Robert Niner of Moline, Ill. and two brothers, John of Keokuk, and Gene of Moline.

Services were held Thursday, Nov. 30, at 1:30 p.m. at Janeba-Kuba Funeral home with Pastor E. Koberg of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids, officiating. Burial was at the IOOF cemetery in Victor.

After interment the relatives were at the William Schlesselman home in Victor where the neighbors had prepared a lunch before they returned to their home.
