Williamsburgh Journal, Williamsburgh (Iowa Co.), Iowa 5 Aug 1887, p3.

Mrs. Evans, of whom we spoke last week died at the family residence one mile east of Williamsburgh, Wednesday August 3rd. She was a most exemplary lady, her whole life has been one of deeds of love and kindness not only for her own family, but for others. She possessed a mind of more than ordinary capacity, a disposition capable of the strongest attachments, and to crown all a faith that never wavered in its constant reliance on the promises of God. A very large congregation of friends, followed her remains this evening (Thursday) to their last resting place, in our beautiful necropolis near this city.

"Gone before
To that blissful silent shore,
Sure we shall meet as heretofore
Some summer morn."
