William Wyant son of George and Abigail Wyant, was born in 1849, in Tuscararus county, Ohio, died at his home near Mt Zion, August 28, 1927. He came with his parents to Iowa when six years of age, settling near Millersburg. He was a family of eight children. They came from Ohio with teams September 28, 1871. He was married to Amanda Jane Zimmerman. Rev Hazlet marrying them. To this union were born six girls and six boys: Amanda Jane, Williametta, Rodenthia, Alphon Arthur, one of the twins preceded him in death. Those surviving are Mrs. Mattie Chappel, Narcatur, KS: Mrs Alma Penn, Milford, IA; Bert of Millersburg, Mrs. Edith Allen of Las Vegas, NV , Mrs. Lulu Ochs of Las Vegas, NV : Charles and Zelphia at home: Alfred of Mt. Zion. He was ailing for a long time and will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He leaves besideds his children, four brothers, JF Wyant, of Sheldon, IA; George of Bellveen, KS; Aaron of Millersburg and Perry of Mason City, IA. Twenty eight grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren. Funeral services wer held at Mt Zion conducted by Rev Gharrett, sermon preached by Rev Cole of Attica. He was then laid to rest beside his loved one in the cemetery at Mt Zion were the funeral services were held.
