Alfred McCammant

Funeral services for Alfred L. McCammant, 76, Williamsburg, were held at 10 am Wednesday, May 15, at Uhlmann-Powell Funeral Home, Williamsburg. He died unexpectedly at his home Saturday evening, May 11, 1991.

The Rev. Larry Riegel, North English United Methodist Church, officiated at the service.

Burial was in the Pilot Grove Cemetery, rural Williamsburg, with graveside military rites by the Iburg-Poulson unit of Veterans of Foreign Wars 8797, Williamsburg. Casket bearers were John Gent, Webster; James Elwood, Steven Durr, James Hradek, Don Lortz and Thomas Slaymaker, all Williamsburg.

Alfred L. McCammant was born April 11, 1915, near Millersburg, the son of Joshua and Melinda Paul McCammant. He attended the Millersburg School.

He married Lucille Klever at Lancaster, Mo., March 6, 1942. He was a World War II veteran and farmed for a number of years southwest of Williamsburg.

He is survived by three sons, Lloyd and Gary, both Williamsburg, and Loren, North English; three granddaughters; two sisters, May Ross, New Sharon, and Sara(Mrs. Tom)Little, Brooklyn.

He was preceded in death by his wife, who died Nov. 3, 1985; his parents; an infant son, Richard; one sister, Lela McCammant, and three brothers, John, Harry and Albert(Mike).
