Williamsburgh Journal, Williamsburgh (Iowa Co.), Iowa, 15 October 1886.

Mr. Phillip Keegan, who lived at the family residence, 4 miles north of this city, died last Sunday evening, after an illness of three weeks. He was a young man about 18 years of age, in the very prime of young manhood, one who was the idol of the home, esteemed for his devotion to his parents and friends, and loved for his generous disposition and goodness of heart. Death, come in whatever form or at whatever age it may, is terrible, but when it enters the home and takes the son, on which the aged parents lean for comfort and solace in their declining years, how sad, how hard to be reconciled, with the Divine will. But out in the great unknown there is, there must be, somewhere a land of immortal bloom, a condition where the mind can complete its development, and where surrounded by fructifying, purifying angelic presence, the soul will finish the grand mission of life.
