PARNELL NEWS
"A.J. DAILY DIES AT CAMP PIKE, ARK.."

Word was received here last week from Camp Pike, that Al Daily, who has been stationed there, was seriously ill. His mother, Mrs. Cathryn Daily, accompanied by Mrs. S.J. Hanson, immediately left for his bedside. However word came again on Friday afternoon that he had died with pneumonia that morning. Death claimed him before his mother was able to reach him. Mrs. Daily and Mrs. Hannon returned to Parnell on last Sunday, and the mother and relatives are awaiting the arrival of the body, which was shipped from there on Tuesday evening of this week. No arrangements have been made for the funeral, owing to the uncertainty of the train service. Alfonso J. Daily was the youngest son of Mr. Thomas and Cathryn Daily and was born on October 22, 1890. The teachings and influence of his mother and father were plainly stamped on him and always practised by him. He graduated from the Parnell high school with the Class of 1907 and there will be many among the members of that class that will grieve to learn of his passing. He was inducted into the army in July and has been stationed at Camp Pike since then. He was a fine young man of unusual ability and was unusually loved by all who knew him. To the sorrowing mother, brothers and sisters the heartfelt sympathies of the entire community are extended.
