It is with the deepest sorrow that we announce the death of Mr. John Black of LaSalle Ill. Feb. 20th 1886. Mr. John Black is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Black, who were among the oldest settlers of Iowa county. He has been engaged in the Mercantile business in La Salle for the past few years and was highly esteemed by all who knew him. The bereaved family have the sympathy of all.

Friend after friend depart,
Who hath not lost a friend,
There is no union here of hearts,
That finds no here an end.
