Marvin was born on May 4, 1952, in Moberly, Missouri to Harold and Maxine Alden Edwards. The family lived in southern Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas before moving to the Victor area. He graduated from HLV High School with the Class of 1970. From 1972 to 1975, he served with the United States Air Force. On December 21, 1974, he was married to Jeanie May LeBeau at the Madison Church of Christ. The couple lived on a farm southwest of Victor. He farmed and was a truck driver for various trucking companies. He worked for the Van Wyk Freight Lines of Grinnell prior to his illness. Marvin was a member of the Madison Church of Christ and served as an Elder. He was also a member of the Poweshiek County Farm Bureau Board of Directors for 16 years and served as Vice President, President and a voting delegate. He was an avid Republican and enjoyed debating Iowa farm and political issues. His hobbies included tinkering with automobile engines, computers and supporting the University of Iowa football and basketball teams. He enjoyed his family and took great pride in being a grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Jeanie Edwards of Victor; two daughters, Tammi (Corey) Twedt of Ankeny and Penny (Jim) Yenter of Williamsburg; two grandchildren, Madalynne and Christopher Yenter of Williamsburg; his father, Harold Edwards of Kimball, Nebraska; his mother, Maxine Burns of Brooklyn; one brother, Scott Edwards of Chincoteague, Virginia; and one sister, Kim Pfantz of Brooklyn. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and one brother, Gary Michael Edwards.
