Jeannette Edith (Tiedemann) Filep, 88, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Marengo, died Friday, June 20, 2008, at St. Luke's Hospital following a short illness. Per Jeannette's wishes no memorial services will be held. Inurnment will be at a later date at Luzerne Lutheran Cemetery, Luzerne. Arrangements by Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Survivors include her cousins, Arlene Furler of Cedar Rapids and John Tiedemann and wife Marilyn of Winterhaven, Fla.; as well as numerous extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Jeannette Edith Filep was born July 18, 1919, in Luzerne, Iowa, the daughter of William and Anna (Strullmeyer) Tiedemann. She graduated from Tama High School in 1937. She worked for many years as a deputy treasurer for the Iowa County Treasurer's Office. She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church, Marengo.

Memorial donations in Jeannette's name may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
