Mrs. Geraldine “Gerry” Harves, 62, 16370 Coventry Lane, Dubuque, died Sunday evening, March 9, 2008, at her home.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 15, at the chapel adjacent to Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home. Pastor John Sorenson will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 14, at Hoffmann Schneider and Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road, Dubuque.
Mrs. Harves was born on August 3, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois, daughter of Frank W. and Bernice (Melnik) Holz. She married Dr. Allen Harves on November 9, 1968 in Williamsburg, Iowa. Mrs. Harves enjoyed playing bridge, bowling, gaming, tennis, and reading. She was a member of Tri-T, Dubuque Friendship Force, and the Mercy Hospital Service Club.
Surviving is her husband, Dr. Allen Harves of Dubuque; two daughters, Heather Harves of Tucson, Arizona, and Erin Harves of Kansas City, Kansas; her father, Frank W. Holz of Tucson, Arizona; two brothers, Frank (Gail) Holz of Urbandale, Iowa, and John C. (Leslie) Holz of Tucson, Arizona, and their children, Meridith, Emily, Hannah, and Olivia Holz; a father in law, Ervin Harves of Dickens, IA; a brother in law, Richard (Ann) Harves of Dickens, Iowa, and their children, Kristi (Brian) Fisher, and Stephanie (Matt) Essick. She was preceded in death by her mother Bernice Holz; and her mother in law, Jean Bernadine Harves.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research or Hospice of Dubuque.
