- Madalene M. Wauters, 95, of Belle Plaine, died Monday, May 26, 2008, at the Belle Plaine Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a short illness. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael's Catholic Church by Deacon Joe Behounek. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Victor. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hrabak Funeral Home in Belle Plaine, where there will be a vigil service at 6:30 p.m.

She is survived by daughters, Joan Bardwell of Belle Plaine and Nancy Cox of Marion; son, Mike (Jan) of Belle Plaine; sisters, Marie DeMeyer of Belle Plaine, Helen Wauters of Victor and Henrietta Malloy of Oxford; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Madalene was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mary Stevens VanOtegham; her husband, Fred; sisters, Hilda Van DeVoorde and Clara Anderson; brother, John VanOtegham; and great-grandchildren, Noah Cahoon and Mary Kate Bardwell.
