Irene M La Grange, 89, of Amana, died Wednesday, Feb. 14 2007, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar rapids. Services:10:30 a.m. Saturday, St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Norway by the Rev. Keith Birch. Visitation: 4-7 p.m.. today at St. Michael’s Parish Center, with a vigil service at 7 p.m.. Arrangements are with Brosh Funeral Service of Norway.

Survivors include five sons, Robert (Dolores), Mark (Sharron) and Sydney (Karen) La Grange all of Amana, Edward La Grange of Swisher and Jim (Dot) La Grange of West Union; six daughters Cecelia (Gary) Burbach, Coletta (Don) Slezak and Monica Bender, all of Cedar Rapids, Mary La Grange of Madison, Wis., Rose (Van) La Grange of Iowa City and Anna (Randy) Mumm of Walford; two brothers, Martin (Mildred) of Amana and Walter (Dolores) of Swisher; three sisters, Margaret Frimml of Tama., Agnes Nie of Jesup and Sister Charmaine Plotz of Dubuque; 27 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; her parents, Frank A. and Anna M (Hiebel) Plotz; a son, John; three grandchildren, two brothers and a sister.

Born Jan 5, 1918, Irene married Josoph K La Grange in Norway on June 4, 1940. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Her favorite hobby was rug making.

She will be missed by her family of ‘sweethearts.”
