Colleen E. Durr , age 79 of Huntington, IN, formerly of Williamsburg, died Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at the Hospice Home in Fort Wayne, IN following a brief illness. Funeral Services: 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 16, 2008, Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, Iowa with Rev. Katie Dawson officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Williamsburg, IA. Friends may call after 10:00 A.M. until service time on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be contributed to St. Paul Methodist Building Fund, Williamsburg, Iowa or the Visiting Nurses Services and Hospice Home, 5910 Homestead Rd., Fort Wayne, IN 46814.

She is survived by her husband Harold Walter Durr; a son Brian Durr of Fort Wayne, IN; a daughter, Debbie Burton and husband Delbert of Huntington, IN; 3 grand children, Derek, Dana and Daniel Burton; and three sisters, Bonnie Huedepohl of Williamsburg, IA, Nancy Renn of Reno, Nevada and Mary Hodges of Chandler, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Colleen Elizabeth Houghkirk was born May 15, 1928 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Ward James and Garnet Williams Houghkirk. She received her education in the Des Moines and Waukee, Iowa schools, graduating in 1946. Colleen worked in retail with J.C. Penney Company and Spurgeons, and also was employed at one time with Collins Radio of Cedar Rapids. She married Harold Walter Durr on May 18, 1951 at the Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids. Colleen enjoyed traveling, reading, music and flower gardening. She especially enjoyed visiting with her family and friends. She was a former member of the Williamsburg, Iowa VFW Auxiliary.
