Lyle H.Gorsch, age 91 of Marengo, died Tuesday afternoon, May 6, 2008 at his home from heart failure. Funeral Services: 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 9, 2008, Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo with Rev. Katie Dawson officiating. Burial will be in the Koszta Cemetery with military honors. Friends may call from 4 to 7 P.M. Thursday, May 8, 2008 at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established.

He is survived by his daughter Rena Gorsch of Marengo; a sister-in-law, Lula Gorsch of Victor and a brother-in-law, Jerry Zavodsky and wife Gladys of Marengo. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ruth, two sisters, Wilma Cronbaugh and Leona Murtha, and two brothers, Floyd “Slim Gorsch and Lloyd W. Gorsch.

Lyle Henry Gorsch was born April 6, 1917 in Iowa County, Iowa, the son of Henry Williams Gorsch and Blanche Cooperider Gorsch. He attended the Iowa County schools and served in the U.S. Army from 1942- 1945. He was a lifetime resident of Iowa County where he farmed. He was a member of the Marengo American Legion Post #76. Lyle spent his time gardening and farming, but just loved being outdoors.
